Liz is the 2024 recipient of the ARNET Sisters of Service Scholarship. She is enrolled in a Master of Nursing Program with a leadership focus. Liz is a rural oncology nurse and currently works as the Clinical Coordinator, Cancer Center Transition Team. In this role, she supports the staff of the 11 provincial community cancer centers in Alberta.
Working in a small rural town, I have had the privilege of getting to deeply know the people with cancer that I serve and the families that care for them. These people are more than patients to me, they are my neighbours, my co-workers, members of my support system - they are my community. My motivation and commitment to helping improve Cancer Care Alberta is driven by them. I want to help create a system that supports oncology nurses to provide the absolute best level of cancer care to the people I care about and those that will require cancer care in the future.
