Thank You To Our Amazing Donors!

Messages of gratitude from our nursing community

I work in the emergency department and the course I took was related to caring for critically ill patients and has helped me provide better care to patients. Thank you to the donors who have made these opportunities possible by offering financial support to individuals like myself.

I’ve been juggling working and school for several months now and this funding is a huge relief for me. I’m hopeful that my education will be able to help me be a better nurse to the patients I work with every day. Thank you so much for supporting me in this journey; I appreciate it!

Thank you ARNET for assisting with funding for attending the annual Current Obstetrical Management Seminars!  I absolutely love going to this conference and it was so incredibly helpful to have some funding support from ARNET.  Learning is a lifelong experience and I always take away so much new information from this conference, so THANK YOU!

This funding made a difference in my life and I want to thank you so much.

I just want to say a huge thank you for the generous donation given to pay for my spinning babies course. I knew it would benefit me and the work I did with moms having babies. Amazingly enough, I have discovered just how much in the last 2 months after attending the course. I have been able to use it with mom's in labor, teaching them as well as other nurses. I have seen first hand how positioning moms can not only help labor progress naturally, but also help to prevent cesarean section! So thankful for this new knowledge!

I can certainly say with the ever-changing pressures of inflation, commitments of tuition, mortgages, rent, child rearing and so on that every bit matters and helps.  Thank you to ARNET donors.

The course funding supported my clinical rotations in Cardiology and Vascular Surgery. These rotations enabled me to gain many of the fundamental skills needed to function as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. I'm grateful that ARNET recognizes the value of advanced nursing education, research, and excellence in clinical practice. I believe funding nurses to achieve individual and societal goals ultimately leads to better patient outcomes and better work environments.

Without you, I would not be able to continue my education!

I am researching the stereotyping Indigenous people experience when accessing healthcare services and the effect of mandatory cultural competency education on nursing practice. Thanks for your support of my graduate education.

Working as a manager in senior’s care has been challenging over the past 3 years.  The funding I have received through ARNET has helped me to gain skills to be a better advocate for our residents in long term care (LTC).  I have developed greater skills to support change management that are critical during an extremely volatile period in health care.  Overall, I feel my ability to work as a manager in health care has expanded due to the opportunity I’ve been granted by the incredible donors who support ARNET.

ARNET funding support is a significant reason why nursing in this province is elevated and innovative. Words are inadequate, and I wish I could articulate more fully my sincere thanks.

Education costs continue to climb. Knowing that ARNET is here to support me and my fellow nurses is a huge relief and brings a beautiful sense of community. A huge thank you to all the donors, they are not only supporting the future of nursing and healthcare but also of social policy.

Your contributions and generosity significantly helped us become better nurses for our patients and the community.

I just wanted to express my utmost appreciation for the funding I received from ARNET from their generous donors. It made me feel like Albertans truly care about and appreciate their nurses. Increasing education and ongoing professional development will only equal better health care for Albertans. Thank you for this opportunity to advance my practice so I can have more confidence and skills to better look after you!

Receiving funding from ARNET donors meant that I could continue in my specialty certificate in addiction and mental health nursing. As I work as a clinical nurse educator and am in a leadership position, learning best practices from a respected university course has been invaluable. My professional role also means that I am ideally situated to share my knowledge with the entire ADMH team in my area. I could not have continued in my studies without the generous support of ARNET, thank you to our donors for continuing to propel the profession of nursing forward.

I have been an RN for over 32 years and always intended to pursue my Masters of Nursing. With a busy family and work life, it was difficult to find the time and additional funds to pursue this dream. The time was right in 2020 to continue my educational endeavour! The ARNET funding opportunity was a big help!

I am in my final two months of the NP program and I am so incredibly grateful for the generosity of ARNET donors who have made this dream a reality. From working in ICU during a pandemic to giving birth to my first child, this program has brought major changes in my life, however through the funding provided to me I have been able to continue my studies. I look forward to paying it forward in the future as an ARNET donor to help another nurse achieve their dream of furthering their education.

The national certification in the specialty of Wound, Ostomy and Continence helped give me the confidence to work in this area. A big thank you for funding my national certification.

Twice now you have kept my dream alive. On those two occasions I had contemplated quitting my program because of financial constraints but you rescued me and kept me going. Thank you to everyone that made the funding possible. Hopefully, I can give back one day to keep someone else’s dream alive.

As a nurse in adolescent psychiatry, the courses I took last year have helped me to be more confident as a patient advocate through my knowledge base and rationale. In addition, the courses provided me with skills to understand the root causes of behaviour, especially in adolescent years. I also took an Indigenous Studies course to gain a better understanding of Indigenous history. Not only have I been able to gain a personal understanding and deep appreciation for their culture, it has challenged me to understand how to advocate actively through my voice and actions. I have since registered for a once in a lifetime opportunity to provide mental health support to residential school survivors, families, and communities attending the Papal visit in July.  Thank you ARNET for helping make all this possible.

I have been a registered nurse for 24 years working in both acute care and community and public health during SARS and H1N1. I have never been faced with the overwhelming changed that needed to happen abruptly when COVID 19 pandemic. My CNA community health certification that ARNET supported with funding enhanced my skills to be redeployed to swabbing and mass immunization clinics. Being adaptable is the key role for community health nursing.
