Nurses Do Research & It Improves Patient Care

This year, ARNET hosted an International Nurses Day breakfast event to celebrate the official launch of our new Nursing Research Fund.

During our Nursing Research Breakfast, guests enjoyed two presentations from nurse researchers, and a special cheque presentation from the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation.

Edmonton Mayor Sohi was also in attendance to provide an official proclamation for International Nurses Day (May 12, 2022).

Thank you to all who attended and celebrated with us!

Your support makes a difference

In 2021, ARNET distributed $730,000 in education funding to support over 850 RNs and NPs in Alberta, and awarded 31 scholarships to recognize excellence in nursing.

This wouldn't be possible without donors like you.

This year, we are striving to give $1.5 million in educational and research funding to RNs and NPs in Alberta.

Nurses with more knowledge and skills means better care and outcomes for patients.

Your donation to ARNET supports continuing education and research for Alberta’s 39,000+ RNs and NPs & directly improves healthcare for all Albertans.

Janelle Head RN, CPN(C)

"Because of ARNET's education grant, I am on track to complete my NP program and continue to influence the surgical landscape in northern Alberta. I look forward to continue finding solutions to bridging access gap as well as providing high-quality surgical patient care."

Barriers in front of mature nursing students

Two Nurse Practitioners who received ARNET funding were highlighted in a recent article by Edify magazine.

"People don’t see the extra barriers in front of mature students — when we decide to further our education in our late 20s or early 30s, many of us have mortgages to pay and families to support. Financial issues are a huge gap.” – Arnel Ramic

ARNET helps fill this gap.
