We're Funding Nursing Research

To provide evidence-based care to Albertans, we need evidence. And with their knowledge and hands-on experience, nurses can identify problems, design, and conduct research studies, and collect evidence that leads to better care.

Nursing research has a direct impact on patients and families.

ARNET is thrilled to support nurses through our Nursing Research Fund. After completing an environmental scan last year, we found that nursing research is often underfunded and not well understood by the public or funding organizations. ARNET’s research funding aims to ‘fill the gap’ for nurse researchers.

Our initial focus, as we build the program, is to work with partners who have expertise in this area. We are currently collaborating with AHS Strategic Clinical Networks (SCNs) who have direct experience with research projects in practice settings across the province. Their leadership, guidance and expertise will help ARNET ensure projects supported have a direct impact on patients and best meet clinical needs.

We have already had strong interest from nurses and hope to grow the research fund to support sound, important research. We welcome community donors and corporate sponsors of all kinds to be part of our exciting future! If you would like to support a program that will have a direct impact on patients and families, donate here.
